Sheona Hamilton-Grant is a graphite artist who works exclusively in black and white pencil, creating photorealist works of horses and dogs.

Sheona’s journey began organically, fueled by an innate love for horses and a desire to translate their grace onto paper. The pencil, also referred to as her scribble friend, a humble yet powerful tool, became her medium of choice, a vehicle for applying the philosophy less is more. As part of this approach, her portraits and scenarios avoid backgrounds, to better focus on her subjects’ most vital qualities and express a powerful authenticity, and this on multiple levels: emotional, pictorial, and perceptual.

Specializing in equestrian realism, Sheona strives to bring these majestic creatures to life on paper, and in so doing, creating a tangible connection between art and equine beauty.

With an impressive collection of works that resonate with enthusiasts and art connoisseurs alike, Sheona Hamilton-Grant’s award winning drawings have been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout Europe and abroad. Her work is held in numerous private, public and corporate collections such as the German Equestrian Federation (DOKR), the Westphalia National Stud (Nordrheine Landgestüt Westfalen), the Westphalia horse museum (Pferdemuseum) in Münster and the Ministry of Environment in Düsseldorf Germany.
