Julie lives on the Fylde coast of Lancashire. She is the author of ‘Ready to Paint Cats and Kittens in Acrylic’
A popular tutor of leisure classes, Julie also gives private tuition, demonstrations and workshops on a variety of subjects and media.
She is a professional member of the Society of All Artists and a Daler-Rowney featured artist.

Captivated by paintings and drawings from a very early age, Julie grew up wanting to understand how it was done.  Encouraged by her mum, she was a regular winner of Childrens’ art competitions and thanks to gifts of art materials at Christmas’s and birthdays, Julie was able to teach herself to use watercolours and oils whilst still at school.

Over the years Julie’s sustained interest in the natural environment has intuitively honed her observation of the world around her, thereby developing and improving her artistic skills in this genre.

A more recent addition to her portfolio is human portraiture, something she has been keen to develop for some time. Her portfolio encompasses animal and human portraiture, Pets, Wildlife, Equestrian, Landscape and Still Life genres.

Her portrait of  ‘Police Horse Invincible’  has been adopted as the logo for the Lancashire Constabulary Retired Police Horse Benevolent Fund.

The painting  ‘Close Encounter’  was the professional portrait finalist, in the SAA ‘Artist of the Year 2010’ competition.
