Julie is a thoroughbred local Yorkshire lass who hails from the dizzy heights of Queensbury village. As an artist she is mostly self-taught, backed-up by several vocational art courses, courtesy of London Art College and inspired by instructional books on coloured pencil painting. Influenced and supported by internationally acclaimed coloured pencil artists, she has won awards for her work and continues to emerge as a commissioned artist with wildlife and animal portraits amongst her growing art portfolio.
November 2012 – 1st Place Leisure Painter award in Derwent “Best of Britain” online exhibition
March 2013 – Best Newcomer in World of Coloured Pencil Exhibition at Cumberland Pencil Museum, Keswick, Cumbria
June 2014 – Winner of the Daler-Rowney award 2014 at Patchings Art Festival, TAPC* Open International Art Exhibition, Nottingham
June 2015 – Highly Commended award in Patchings Art Festival 2015, TAPC Open International Art Exhibition
