I am an award-winning Artist and Modelmaker captivated by the natural world's delicate and complex beauty. I explore this fascination through wildlife sculpture. Over the years, I have received multiple accolades, including the 'Best Use of Creative Materials Award' at the national modelmakers event 'New Blades.' My work is displayed publicly and has been exhibited in Make South West’s Jubilee Gallery.

From the age of four, I would always be seen with a pair of scissors and paper in my hands, where I would create paper birds from scrap loo rolls. It was here where my creative journey began, making anything and everything, getting materials from what I called my ‘busy box’. I would often spot a bird outside and research it in my favourite book, looking at the wing shape and colours, before making it out of cardboard and paper. This fuelled my passion for the natural world and taught me to observe detail.

I enjoy working with a diverse range of materials and techniques, adding layer upon layer of detail to bring each subject to life. From crafting oak sea turtle shells to hand-cutting individual paper feathers and using traditional clay, I continually strive for excellence in my craft. Having lived in the Cotswolds and Barcelona, Spain, I draw inspiration from diverse sources within the natural world. This passion for wildlife has contributed to my realistic artistic style.

Through my love for the natural world, I have developed an ability to observe details closely. Whenever possible, I prefer to work from life, emphasising that careful observation of a subject's behaviour and instinctive and physical traits, along with anatomical research results in an intriguing and powerful artwork. I aim to capture the true essence, character, and spirit of each subject, believing that when you look into a sculpture's eyes, you should feel life as if it is looking back at you.

As a graduate of Arts University Bournemouth with a BA(Hons) in Modelmaking, I developed a passion for creating detailed, lifelike miniatures and sculptures. This education equipped me with the skills to convey stories and meanings through three-dimensional art, which has proven invaluable in crafting wildlife sculptures that evoke emotional responses.

I still create paper birds just as I did when I was young, and still enjoy it all the same. But most importantly I love to create and always have, and always will.
