I am a wildlife and pet portrait artist living in Eugene, Oregon. I grew up in Sedona, Arizona and as a child I was always drawing. My father was an artist and I knew from watching him work, that was what I wanted to be when I grew up. In my earlier years as an artist, I mainly drew portraits of people, but I have recently transitioned to wildlife and pet portraits. I have always been inspired by the beauty of animals and my passion for art seemed to naturally evolve into wildlife art. My style is realism and I work mostly in pastels, colored pencils, graphite, charcoal, and pen and ink. I do freelance illustration work as well as commissioned pet and people portraits.
Some of my most recent accomplishments include receiving second place for my Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife Habitat Conservation stamp contest. I also received the people’s choice award for the Habitat Conservation & Waterfowl stamps. My work has also been featured in multiple issues of Art & Color magazine. Most recently, my work was shortlisted for the Wildlife Artist of the Year competition and my piece, Respite, was displayed at the Mall Galleries in London. As part of the competition, I donated a collection of four big cat portraits which all sold during the exhibition.
