My name is Lea Threlfall, based near Lichfield, Staffordshire.
I am mainly self taught with a few evening college courses, local art classes, workshops and clubs along the way. I’m lucky enough to have several amazing artists as my friends and their encouragement and talent have pushed me further in the last couple of years. I try to paint every day and always have a small sketchbook with me. My husband is very understanding!
I work in acrylic and oils but also enjoy charcoal and graphite. My inspiration comes from wildlife, animals and the natural world. The pure joy of capturing the light coming across the fields or the glint in a cat’s eye has me dancing around the studio at times. I like to mix things up every now and then, painting animals and pet portraits, landscapes and portraiture or figurative art. I always come back to animals though.
I’ve been selling my art locally and take commissions but I’ve also started up an Etsy shop. I have started to enter competitions and recently had a landscape highly commended. I’d like to create a body of work to exhibit. My main goal is to better my artwork and believe in myself!
