NAME: Nina Sendrijas Jones

LOCATION: Calgary, AB, Canada

DO YOU HAVE ANY FORMAL TRAINING: No, I started self-taught, but I have since learned from demos and art critiques by other artists, through my membership with The Calgary Sketch Club Fine Art, here in Calgary.

SUBJECT OF CHOICE: I do nature art, animals, florals, other botanicals, and natural landscapes.

MEDIUM OF CHOICE: Acrylics, Watercolor, and Gouache

WHAT INSPIRES YOU: Nature inspires me. I love natural parks especially with/ near a body of water. I am fascinated by the diversity of plants and animals in those natural landscapes, and the way the landscapes change in every season. I live in an area where our city has two major rivers intersecting, and all the riverine areas are preserved as natural parks, teeming with very diverse flora and fauna. The amazing scenes I see in these landscapes, truly cultivated great inspirations for my art.

I also have great love for animals and beautiful gardens.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ARTISTIC AMBITIONS THAT YOU ARE WORKING TOWARDS?, IF SO, WHAT ARE THEY?
I aim to hone my artistic abilities, to better express my inspirations through my art.
I also hope to be able to raise awareness for the preservation and protection of our natural  environments, and cultivate great appreciation for the natural world, through my art.
