Kim Priggen

Capturing that all important ‘twinkle in the eye’ is what makes my art so popular. I have always had a passion for painting animals for my own pleasure and I’ve found that people really appreciate the way I focus on capturing the animal’s personality and character and really ‘bring them to life’.

I have loved art all my life but have taken it up more seriously since taking voluntary redundancy from my job as a diamond valuer in 2008. Although not formally trained, I have learnt from two exceptionally talented local artists with very different styles who have given me real insight and showed me how to take my art to another level.

I work from home in Surrey and commissions are welcomed. I usually paint the in acrylics or oils as I can take time to get a good likeness. – I want to feel that I know and love them as much as you do before I start. When painting  a commission I spend the time to make sure the finished portrait is the very best likeness and character of the pet I am representing.

My waterclours are much looser than my acrylics and everyone seems to love them., and I love painting them so I must be doing something right!  Oils are a more recent additional to my portolio, which I really enjoy working with.

I am collaborating with some animal charities particularly International Animal Rescue, that are close to my heart, to help fund raising, which I am very committed to and enjoy painting for them.

I find art all-encompassing and when I am involved in a painting I am completely taken to another place. I am now developing my hobby so I can share it with others and would like to start exhibiting my work.

If  you would like a permanent memento of your pet or any other art please get in touch. I also have prints and cards available.
