DID YOU HAVE ANY FORMAL TRAINING?  Not specifically in coloured pencil. A level in Art and AS level in History of Art. HND in Costume with Performance Design at Arts University Bournemouth.

SUBJECT OF CHOICE  Wildlife - primarily British birds.

MEDIUM OF CHOICE Coloured pencil

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?  I am very passionate about wildlife and the natural world and want to see us taking better care of and respecting our planet, and the species living on it. My work is primarily inspired by the wildlife of the British Isles. I particularly love watching birds and find their behaviour fascinating. My time volunteering and working at RSPB Pulborough Brooks in West Sussex was the beginning of my love affair with nature and I endeavour to capture some of the incredible colours, textures and movements of the animal kingdom through my work.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ARTISTIC AMBITIONS THAT YOU ARE WORKING TOWARDS? I would very much like to participate in more exhibitions. As well as working towards a solo exhibition of my work, I would love to collaborate with similar artists in my local area to curate a themed exhibition.

DO YOU OFFER WORKSHOPS / TUITION / COMMISSIONS? I have run workshops for beginners before – ‘An Introduction to Coloured Pencil’.
I have just started offering online drawing courses. The first one is a 6-week course where I will take participants step-by-step through the process of drawing a puffin in coloured pencil. If this is successful, I hope to offer more with different subjects. Details can be found here:

I take commissions on a very limited basis, primarily around Christmas. Details of when slots become available are usually shared on my Facebook and Instagram pages.
