DID YOU HAVE ANY FORMAL TRAINING? No

SUBJECT OF CHOICE: Animals, particularly dogs and horses. I started riding as a horse mad 5 year old and have worked with dogs for over 10 years, and this knowledge and familiarity helps me create portraits that include those important little details which can be overlooked.

MEDIUM OF CHOICE: Coloured pencils

WHAT INSPIRES YOU? I’m inspired by the amazing bond between animals and their owners and the happiness they can bring to your life. This keeps me wanting to learn and improve my skills, aiming to capture that ‘extra something’ that makes each animal special and unique, not just a physical likeness.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ARTISTIC AMBITIONS THAT YOU ARE WORKING TOWARDS? I want to create art that makes the owner smile and say ‘that’s my pet’. Displaying my work at more exhibitions, maybe entering a competition (if I’m brave enough) would be a longer term goal.
