Hi animal lovers !
I’m Bev. I am an Artist and Illustrator living in gorgeous North Yorkshire, England.
I have been drawing and painting animals ever since I could pick up a pencil.
I love to experiment with different media. Sometimes I am in the mood for more detailed drawings with coloured pencils but other times I like to be more experimental using watercolours, mono printing, oils and also clay ! As long as the subject is furry, feathery or scaley Im in my element.
As well as doing my Art I am a therapist. When I work with people I always try to connect them with their own creative outlets. Creativity has been my therapy throughout my life and I am really interested in the way it helps people to connect with others and to build resilience and selfesteem.
To this end I started a sketch blog in 2012 where I attempted to sketch three things I was grateful for each day. It started me on a journey of discovery where I went back to Uni and studied Illustration and Design with a view to writing and illustrating children’s books.
In 2010 I won a competition with Derwent Pencils and worked with them for a few years demonstrating use of their products at Art Fairs and running workshops for Art Clubs. My therapy work took over for a while but I am now looking to spend a bit more time on my artistic pursuits, primarily getting my two book ideas to print.
I am so grateful to have been accepted into the Association alongside some fabulous Animal Artists.
Please feel free to take a look at my website which I am in the process of upgrading.
