Elizabeth's practice is fuelled by a lifelong love of both dogs and drawing, with a portfolio of over 200 pet portrait commissions alongside projects and themed collections. Her work has recently shifted from formal portraits to more detailed scenes on a larger scale that incorporate a narrative element, and she is particularly interested in exploring the unique nature of our connection with dogs; how we utilise their skills to fulfil various societal roles and how integrated they are in our lives and our spaces.

Elizabeth's work is meticulous and detailed, inspired by a long standing admiration for realism and the satisfaction of recreating subjects on paper. She aims to capture characters, relationships and moments from life, true to life, and works mostly in colour pencil to achieve this. She enjoys exploring the relationship between realism and abstraction in my process by rendering drawings in small squares, essentially creating individual abstract drawings that piece together to reveal a representational image.

Elizabeth has always had an interest in visual narrative and has a degree in design for performance. She is based in Leeds and works on her creative practice part time around her job and family. She has had work featured in many local and online exhibitions and art trails, and is also a member of North Art.
