Hello, my name is Enikő Orbán, though most people know me as Eny. I am a self-taught artist based in Belgium, specializing in realistic animal portraiture.
Drawing has been a part of my life since childhood. I began working with graphite at a young age and later expanded my practice to include coloured pencils, pastels, and watercolour. While I enjoy exploring different mediums, coloured pencil remains my preferred choice for animal portraits because of its ability to capture the fine details, textures, and character of each subject.
Realism has always been at the heart of my work. I am particularly inspired by animals and nature, and I strive to create artwork that not only reflects physical likeness but also conveys personality and emotion. Alongside wildlife and nature subjects, I create commissioned pet portraits, with a special focus on memorial portraits.
Preserving the memory of a beloved companion is one of the main reasons I began creating pet portraits. Having experienced the loss of several cherished pets myself, I understand the comfort that art can bring during the grieving process. Through my drawings, I hope to provide families with a lasting tribute and a meaningful way to celebrate the bond they shared with their animals.
Alongside my artistic practice, I work as a therapist, and I am deeply interested in the healing connection between art and emotional wellbeing. Whether through creating artwork or supporting others, my goal is to help people reconnect with meaningful memories and experiences.
I am honoured to be a member of the Association of Animal Artists and look forward to sharing my work with fellow artists and animal lovers.
