I am a recreational textile artist specialising in needle felting, working in both 2D and 3D. I studied A level art and textile design, but my higher education studies took we towards psychology. I am a full-time university lecturer.

My connection with nature stated by growing up at the foot of the Pennines, I love the rugged moorland landscape and took early inspiration from how nature had reclaimed industrial heritage. I spent a lot of time walking with my dog on the moors; this built a connection with nature that gave me true freedom in an ever-complex world. The northwest tradition of woollen mills also grew my connection to textiles; I was drawn to art pieces with 3D texture.

I have spent most of my adult life living in the Stroud area of Gloucestershire. This area has empathy to my childhood with a similar history in the textile industry.  Through all that life brings, nature gives me strength. I seek to honour its importance through my art. My work with wool is ever evolving, I like to challenge myself to explore how far wool can go.
