After many years away from the easel—raising a family and working full-time—I’ve returned to painting with renewed passion. Art gives me a lovely way to combine two of my greatest loves: animals and creativity.
I live in Surrey with my husband and our beautiful Finnish Lapphund, Lexi. For several decades I have worked in the drug dependency field. And for the last ten I have volunteered with the Blue Cross Pet Loss Support Service. This has really deepened my understanding of the special bond we share with our companion animals.
I paint in acrylic and like to add colourful backgrounds to my pictures. I try to choose backdrops that complement the character of the main subject in some way, perhaps by being bold or cheeky or a bit daring!
I have worked on a number of pet portrait commissions, but mostly sell my art as greetings cards and prints through Etsy.
