Julieanne is a self-taught wildlife artist whose work is rooted in a deep respect for the natural world and a lifelong love of animals. Through her coloured pencil drawings, she hopes to encourage others to pause, appreciate the beauty and individuality of wildlife, and recognise the importance of protecting the habitats that sustain it.

From an early age, Julieanne was fascinated by the animals and birds around her. A sketchbook and pencils were never far from reach in the basket of her bicycle as she spent countless hours observing wildlife and nurturing a passion for drawing that has remained with her throughout her life.

Although encouraged by her art teacher at school, life took her in a very different direction and she stepped away from drawing completely for many years. In 2024, she unexpectedly rediscovered her passion after picking up a graphite pencil. What began with a single sketch soon became the start of a new creative journey.

Working in coloured pencil on fine art paper, Julieanne is drawn to the subtle details that make every animal unique. She is particularly captivated by expression and the eyes, believing they reveal the character, gentleness and spirit of each subject. Her aim is not simply to create a realistic portrait, but to capture a quiet moment of connection between the animal and the viewer.

Julieanne believes art has the power to foster a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the remarkable creatures with whom we share our world. Whether portraying a tiny garden bird or a majestic woodland mammal, each drawing is created with patience, care and genuine admiration for nature. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to value, respect and help protect the wildlife that enriches our lives.
