Micheline Perreault, Painter
I have always been passionate about the arts, and from a very young age, I drew and colored every day. In 2003, I discovered acrylic painting on wood thanks to a friend, and I was immediately captivated by this medium. I completed a few projects, but I had to give them up to focus on my career. It wasn't until 2014, after retiring from teaching, that I picked up my brushes again, and this art quickly became a necessity.
A self-taught artist, I have explored different styles, but I have always returned to animal painting. For me, it was a natural choice, since I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and I am passionate about felines. Through trial and error, I finally found my own style. I always choose my subjects carefully, focusing particularly on the intensity of their gaze and the emotion they convey. That's why I favor close-ups.
My main goal is to raise awareness about the threats facing wildlife by using my art to showcase these animals!
